My friend Annie and I are planning to go see Alice in Wonderland this weekend. However, all the reviews I have read so far have been negative. Have you seen the movie and would you recommend it?

I don't know what the movie is like, heard some good and some bad, so you'll just have to be the judge!!! I'll eventually get around to seeing it, but I'm sure glad I came back to your site. I was here a few minutes ago and this post wasn't here, darling!!! it's just as beautiful as always!

ReplyDeleteWhere to start! What a beautiful tea setting! I am now craving sweets severely. That cake is incredible! That candelabra is so wonderfully gothic. Oh, those roses with pink on the outside and cream on the inside, how pretty AND do those glasses have their hands on their hips!?!? Well, just LOL!
ReplyDeleteI HEARD that the positive reviews slightly outweighed the negative. It makes me think that you won't be squirming in your seat - not that you would ever do such a thing. I think that so many times people are looking for the book which is a different medium entirely. This is a movie from Lewis Caroll's inspiration but is Tim Burton's work of art.

Haven't seen it yet though to tell for sure, I fall asleep in movie theaters as soon as the lights go out. I even fell asleep in Mama Mia on Broadway - can you believe it? Ciao, Bella!

ReplyDeleteI'm still in the Wonderland magic. I saw the movie on Sunday. A group of about 20 of us saw it. Ranging from 6 to 68 and well all loved it!!!

ReplyDeleteI think any movie made by Tim Burton needs to be seen with an open mind :) visually it seems amazing, not sure i will take the younger kiddos but the teenagers are asking to see it. I'll break out the old Disney one tonight just for fun. Enjoy!

My cold and sinus infection seemed as though it would never go away, but it finally has, and I've missed visiting your blog, so am happy to be here today, reading your adorable post! I haven't seen the new movie, and don't know anyone that has, so I can't give you a review, but it seems that most people have enjoyed it. My granddaughter, who is not yet 11, said it looked scary, and doesn't want to see it, but I think it is basically an adult movie, right? I do hope that if you go, you enjoy it immensely!
Thank you so much for the tea this morning...I needed a cup to get me started, and I'll be back at 4 for a little more!

From the previews I have seen it looks like a spectacular film with some outrageous cinematoraphy (spelling?)and I am looking forward to the outing immensley. I hope we all enjoy it xx
PS. I played the Mad Hatter in our school play many years ago, I thought at the time it was slightly cooler than being Alice.
Duchess I saw the movie two weeks ago and I would tell you to go see it. It is not the greatest, but a must see for the sake of it.

Yes, I do recommend seeing it and for sure in the theater where you can enjoy the 3D. The visuals are wonderful, story line a bit week. Still worth it. And "sigh" Johnny Depp.

such a pretty cake and pretty pictures. Yes, I want to see Alice in Wonderland as well. I haven't seen any bad reviews about it, so hope it is good, the previews of coming attractions at the theatre
looked like it would be great. Can't believe they are making all these 3D movies now. We saw a Christmas Carol in 3D, and it was really fun, loved all the special affects. Make sure and let us know if you see it this weekend and what you think about it!

ReplyDeletesaw the movie this week with my darling daughter at the el capitan theatre in hollywood. such fun! all the costumes from the movie are on display and the lovely staff all wear mad hatter hats and were very cheerful. the movie was wonderful. visually exciting but definitely a tad on the darkside (a la tim burton) but also with such very brilliant humor. the costumes were so amazing!! the whole theatre applauded at the end. a very mixed crowd (as always in la la land) and all seemed happy.
