Rose Tea Cottage

Where tea is served at half past four

Your Grace, I am humbled by the great honor thou hast bestowed upon me. If I may be so bold, however, I wonder if thous hast a, dare I say, more mannish version of this lovely crown? I fear that if I don this one in public, the hoi polloi might think me an old queen.
I bow to thee, Your Grace, and remain,Courtier of the Noble Brew.

The
Duchess came up with a
Mannish Version for The Prodigal Tourist

The Prodigal Tourist wrote in response:
Your Grace--you do me such honor! Such noblesse oblige! I am vastly relieved you have chosen to indulge my little request rather than have me thrown into the tea-less dungeons. I shall don this regal medallion with manly pride. My chest puffeth up and my step is minceless!
I remain,The Prodigal Tourist, Loyal Courtier of the Noble Brew

It would never do to project that image to the common people. Your mannish award is much more suited.

Excellent 'mannish award' - but the one for the ladies is fabulous, very Royal and sparkly.

Just had to make a return visit to your blog because it does cheer me on a dull day - your blog is so colourful on this dull July day in England. The weather cannot decide if it is July or October methinks!! - and it's my first day of holiday from work today until September 7.

A spokesman for the Duchess just released this statement, thanking everyone for their kind comments.

As for the Prodigal Tourist, Her Grace is happy that she has kept Her Loyal Courtier of the Noble Brew content this cloudy and rainy morning.

Your Grace,
I am pleased to see that, unlike dear Queen Victoria, we are amused by this lively discourse we have exchanged today. And I am proud to announce to all who wish to drop in and see that my mannish medal hangeth in the appropriate position. Let's have tea soon, or perhaps tiffin!
