Rose Tea Cottage

Where tea is served at half past four

I thank you my darlings for participating and commenting
on my previous inquisitive post.

From royalty, to celebrities, fashion designers, politicians, historical figures, writers, poets, family and friends, you certainly invited some intriguing people to tea. I was mostly touched by those who chose to spend the afternoon with dearly departed loved ones.
I share in their pain; given that, I too lost my irreplaceable mum and would give anything to spend just one afternoon with her
.

In life, you can never do a kindness too soon
because
you never know how soon it will be too late.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Emerson's concept of kindness unquestionably applies to spending time with loved ones. So my darlings, without wasting a moment, bake a batch of scones, make a nice pot of tea and spend a lovely Sunday afternoon with loved ones.

What a lovely blog which is bursting with beautiful color. I have enjoyed my first visit here tonight. I am an avid tea drinker and English on my fathers side. Most of my tea comes across the pond, for tea here is just not the same.

Dearest Duchess, yes I too was most deeply touched by those that would give anything to have tea with a dearly departed, loved one!

I almost listed my dearly departed dad;( yet in that monment it simply hurt to much to mention him)! He and I would polish silver by the hour, to ready for my afternoon teas!~ My dearest mother is thankfully still able to attend my afternoon tea parties!..,

And yes, I absolutely would be delighted to have, as mentioned, to have the priviledge and pleasure of having afternoon tea with you darling Duchess!

1 dearly wish for your sake precious lady, that your mother was indeed still alive to join you in a joyful afternoon tea, as I wish my dad was.

(I'm oh so lonely for him as of late, that I've shed just a few tears lately). Yet thankfully,I do feel overall quite strong emotionally, and rejoicing in the memory of such a lovely man!

Much love and hugs to you dearset Duchess, Wanda Lee @ The Plumed Pen, and @ Silken Purse

Hi! Oh thank you for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment...
I can see that there is quite a 'tea party' going on here at Rose Tea Cottage!

I'm so glad I stopped by!

My brother nick-named my mother "Dutchess."
I would want tea with my mother and grandmothers.

As for Princess Diana
~ what an amazing story ~
She was like the hummingbird. Stunningly beautiful with a winged heart... and sadly, a short life ♥
So wonderful to stop by ~ and will definitely visit again!

Duchess I so loved the quote by Emerson. How absolutely perfect and rings so true. I too was tickled to see you picked Lady Diana. I adored her from the go and still have the newspaper announcing her death that tragic day. I've been laying low of late and sorry I haven't been bye to say hello. My husbands mum Ethel has been moved to hospice in Scotland. She has gone down hill so horrible fast that we can't even take it all in. Hope you are well and thinking of you as always. Cheers my dear xoxo deb

Morning Duchess,
Ralph Emerson is right so many times we may feel a sense that we need to do something for someone a call, a visit, a card and we can push those thoughts aside because we are too busy or too lazy, but most times I find that when we listen (to the voice of God, I believe) he is telling us because he knows just what that person needs and when.
I remember a friend telling me once that she felt like God spoke to everyone else and how come he didn't speak to her, and then she said she had a day where she kept feeling all day she needed to visit her grandmother, off and on all day the thoughts came, but she had so much to do that day and was running her kids to soccer practice and her and there and never got to go, her grandmother died that night, and she said I realized God does talk to me, I just never listen!! Hard way to find that out!!
We did just what you said at the end, we spent the day with our grown kids and my sister in law yesterday celebrating her birthday
and it was a glorious blessing.
A fun time was had by all, and some mighty good eating as well.
You have a lovely day dear,
Blessings, Nellie
