Rose Tea Cottage

Where tea is served at half past four

What is a home?
A roof to keep out the rain
Four walls to keep out the wind
Floors to keep out the cold
No, a home is much more then told ...

Home is the womb that holds the soul
Home is the place where one is whole

Home is safe and a place of peace
Home is where all starving cease

Home is where you find your rest
Home is where you feel your best

Home is where you groom for the ball
Home is the place you yearn to call

Home is all these wonderful things
Home is the place you develop your wings
Home is the place that you will leave one day
Home is the place where your heart will always stay

Home is where you make pots and pots of tea
So go put the kettle on my darling and enjoy your home

Did you write this beautiful poem? I love the line, "Home is the womb that holds the soul." That is so true, especially to women who are so many times wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend all at the same time. Great post!

Duchess, I love the whites and the pastels and home is the best place...a place to really be me, and relax, and find peace and calm. How blessed I am to have a home that I enjoy and that my hsb and I have been able to share and shape together.

Oh Duchess Sweetie...
I find it so interesting as we start out as a heartbeat, and our heart is what we leave behind when we pass on, our heart for our children to share for generations to come. So beautiful this poem you shared today. I do so love it.

I so enjoyed tea today as always, the conversation and laughter was so contagious. I love it when you share. The scones were so delightful and loved my strawberry jam for sure. You always make me feel like a Queen sweetie. Thank you for sharing.

Country hugs and so much love...Sherry

I've missed coming here! My computer was just such a mess that even the geniuses at Apple couldn't figure it out, they had to replace the hard drive and now I am waiting for my husband to re-install things and I hope to be back blogging next week!

And now I'm off to see what I've missed!
Love to you!,
