Rose Tea Cottage

Where tea is served at half past four

Signs that the season will soon change is apparent all around us. It’s time to pack away the pastels and bring out the autumn colors. Where did the summer go?

WOW!! It has been a long, hard and tedious week I am happy to report that my father is doing much better. I thank you all for your kind words and prayers for his quick recovery. It is with a huge sigh of relief that Friday is here and the weekend is almost upon us.

I will be spending my entire weekend watching my favourite green-thumbed sleuths Laura & Rosemary (Rosemary & Thyme) and eating ice cream, perhaps from a lovely teacup just like the photo above.
No chores, no cooking, no tidying up ... no no no, simply relaxing.
What are your plans for the weekend?

Duchess

What a great way to spend the weekend. I just recently learned of "Rosemary and Thyme." Through Netflix I've ordered their series and have watched the first season. Tall Husband and I can't wait to see the next season, which we will do this weekend. Love those English ladies! Nobody does murder mysteries like those brits.

Have a great weekend.

So pleased your father is feeling better and that you can put your feet up this weekend.

What a shame there is only three series of R & T. I was so annoyed it got cancelled.

Have a lovely weekend with your icecream in teacups my dear,

I love your visits and I love your blog. This week has been pretty busy for me with school and Destiny was sick, but the weekend is turning around she is feeling better, the homework is done, and its just going to be a relaxing weekend for me, hopefully.

I hope you have a blessed weekend. And whenever you get a chance to come by is fine with me, don't worry sweety,

Hello Sweet Duchess,
I am so sorry to hear about your Fathers accident. I so hope he is better, and that this dislocation of his neck will not cause him problems down the road. I will be adding him to my prayer list, so when I sit down at night to pray I will remember him.

I loved your post today. I will take on of those cups of ice cream also. Looked so yummy. Thanks for sharing.

I painted my dining room last weekend. Loved the red so much, that I am going to add a spash of color to the kitchen area too. I had a whole 1/2 of gallon left. I thought it might be fun to add a little color under the cabinets in a couple of places, just to punch it up a bit. Tony is working today, so it will be a great day to experiment.

Have a relaxing weekend sweetie. Country hugs and love, Sherry

Hi Dutchess!!!
I had my white carpet in the family room removed finally, I do not know what I was thinking 5 years ago when I selected cream color carpet for our new house!!!! Even "Big kids" make messes, maybe even more, becasue you can punish little children for wearing muddy shoes in the house, but not big kids as they just look at you!!!! So after many sippy cup spills and diaper leaks and big kid footprints --it was time to tear it out and just put tile down!!! I live in Warm Arizona, so more tile is no big deal, actually so much easier to take care of!!!!Well vacuming is easier, but I don't want to be replacing carpet every 5 years!!!!!
So the tile project is done--but while the house was all out of it's ordinary put togetherness, I decided to do another project and that is to have the den walls re-painted and wainscot put on!!!! So I will be spending my week-end putting my house back to order!!!!!
So this past week has been a bit Crazy!!! Had Miss C 3 Full days in a ROW!!!! The house was all tore up and lots of things sitting everywhere where little fingers can touch them, only 1 broken music box, sadly one of my favorite's, Miss C cried when it fell to the ground and do did MIMI!!!!That baby loves music figurines, wants me to wind them all up!!!Also my daughter's 30th birthday was this week, so whew, what a week!!! Actually if I could I would sleep all day Saturday!!!!
I have had to get up bright and early and be dressed everyday that the workers were here!!!!!I love to lounge about in my P.j.'s til 10 or so if I'm not going anywhere!!!!
Well enough of me gabbing on and on!!!
hugs to you my dear,
jamie

Unfortunately, I won't be indulging in ice cream in beautiful dainty cups. I need to loose 5 pounds from the previous homemade ice creme indulgences this summer. Winter clothes are just a little snug. Have a delightful weekend Duchess.

So glad things are better for you!! I can't believe you are watching rosemary and thyme! They are our faves too. They carry them at our library, but we probably need to buy them all on DVD, I am now wondering if there might be episodes we missed! Do you ever watch Monarch of the Glen? If not, make sure you start at the beginning with the first season. It's soap opera like, but lots of gorgeous scotland scenery! :)

And eating ice cream from a teacup sounds wonderful!

I eat my bowl of cereal each morning from a small tea cup that belongs to a set that was once my grandmother's! Now I'll have my dessert from one those cups too!

Thanks so much for all your kind comments to me.
I'm hoping to post sometime this week.

All the best,
Eileen

I'm glad to hear that your Dad is doing better. Sounds like you really need a relaxing weekend.

Here in GA there is not such a noticeable separation of the seasons - fall can be quite warm and winter lacks snow. Much different than in Canada where I lived most of my life.

Your photos are great. I love the idea of serving ice cream in an elegant teacup.
