Rose Tea Cottage

Where tea is served at half past four

I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.
For a very important date.
No time to say hello.
Goodbye.
I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

Mad Hatter: Would you like a little more tea?
Alice: Well, I haven’t had any yet, so I can’t very well take more!
March Hare: Ah, you mean you can’t very well take less.
Mad Hatter: Yes, You can always take more than nothing!

Alice: I simply must get through!!
Doorknob: Sorry, You’re much too big. Simply impassible.
Alice: You mean impossible?
Doorknob: No, impassible. Nothing is impossible.

Alice: And how many hours a day did you do lessons?
The Mock Turtle: Ten hours the first day, nine the next, and so on.
Alice: What a curious plan!
The Gryphon: That's the reason they're called lessons, because they lessen from day to day.

My friend Annie and I are planning to go see Alice in Wonderland this weekend. However, all the reviews I have read so far have been negative. Have you seen the movie and would you recommend it?
Do share darlings.

Dear Duchess,

No I have not been to see it, but a blog friend went and loved it.
I am looking forward to going and I often think there will always be people, that give a negative rating.
I do hope that you enjoy it and have fun.

Duchess I highly recommend it. It was magical and with lots of imaginative twist and turns. You will like it.

I've never been to see the movie though I have seen several renditions over the years..,

Do you recall dear Duchess when several weeks ago, (perhaps it was even last month you had 'felt the blues'); longing for Spring?

I surely could use some cheering now dearest Duchess, if you're so inclined!

Also,I've been trying so hard and am so exhausted these days; really I feel as if I may be trying too hard with my blog lately, with regard to the hours I'm keeping!..,I'm staying up way too late working on them!

It's just that I love blogging, as is also evident with you my dear lady!

I came to be cheered and you never dissappoint!~(Though it's my pleasure to cheer you, as well as all of my fellow bloggers as needs be!

Now to 'wipe away those silly tears'! The warm days are coming; and the blues will recede!!

(Believe it or not dear lady, I always choose ordinarily to look on the bright side)!.., Well that pretty pink and oh-so-elegant cake and goodies will surely do it!

Thanks for the lovliness my dearest Duchess and do enjoy the 'Alice In Wonderland' movie with your dear friend Annie!

I also want to warmly invite you to vist my 21st , Tuesday Tea For Two, tea party..,

This weeks theme is a 'Ladies Spring Afternoon, Fashion Tea', arranged in my dressing room.

So you see, perhaps if you visit my dear, you'll 'feel as if as if you had tunmbled down that proverbial rabbit hole', prior to going to the Alice In Wonderland movie!

Warmest regards from Wanda Lee @ The Plumed Pen

Where to start! What a beautiful tea setting! I am now craving sweets severely. That cake is incredible! That candelabra is so wonderfully gothic. Oh, those roses with pink on the outside and cream on the inside, how pretty AND do those glasses have their hands on their hips!?!? Well, just LOL!

I HEARD that the positive reviews slightly outweighed the negative. It makes me think that you won't be squirming in your seat - not that you would ever do such a thing. I think that so many times people are looking for the book which is a different medium entirely. This is a movie from Lewis Caroll's inspiration but is Tim Burton's work of art.

Goodness! I'm so opinionated! Have fun at the movies! Popcorn and tea - yum! = \

Hello my dear, new blogging friend - how could Wonderland with Johnny Depp in it be anything but absolutely wonderful? Haven't seen it yet though to tell for sure, I fall asleep in movie theaters as soon as the lights go out. I even fell asleep in Mama Mia on Broadway - can you believe it? Ciao, Bella!

This post is marvelous and worthy of a big grin. I have not seen the new movie but I suspect no matter what all those stuffy critics say, it will be grand. After all, Mr. Depp is worthy of greatness all on his own. Have a magnificent time darling dear.

Love you Duchess xx

I think any movie made by Tim Burton needs to be seen with an open mind :) visually it seems amazing, not sure i will take the younger kiddos but the teenagers are asking to see it. I'll break out the old Disney one tonight just for fun. Enjoy!

Hello Duchess,

First, thank you so much for your concern while I was "out sick". My cold and sinus infection seemed as though it would never go away, but it finally has, and I've missed visiting your blog, so am happy to be here today, reading your adorable post! I haven't seen the new movie, and don't know anyone that has, so I can't give you a review, but it seems that most people have enjoyed it. My granddaughter, who is not yet 11, said it looked scary, and doesn't want to see it, but I think it is basically an adult movie, right? I do hope that if you go, you enjoy it immensely!

Thank you so much for the tea this morning...I needed a cup to get me started, and I'll be back at 4 for a little more!

God bless,
Mary

Thanks for leaving a comment so I could come and visit you. I love all things English, so I see I have come to the right place and I am sure you serve a great cup of tea (unlike my American friends here.) Love the photos of the royal family but oh poor Princess Anne! Was there ever a good photo taken of her? It is 11:00 AM here so I think I am just in time for tea. Brilliant of me! I like milk please.

PS. I played the Mad Hatter in our school play many years ago, I thought at the time it was slightly cooler than being Alice.

saw the movie this week with my darling daughter at the el capitan theatre in hollywood. such fun! all the costumes from the movie are on display and the lovely staff all wear mad hatter hats and were very cheerful. the movie was wonderful. visually exciting but definitely a tad on the darkside (a la tim burton) but also with such very brilliant humor. the costumes were so amazing!! the whole theatre applauded at the end. a very mixed crowd (as always in la la land) and all seemed happy.

very nice blog and beautiful pictures!!!
