Rose Tea Cottage

Where tea is served at half past four

The days come and go like muffled and veiled figures
sent from a distant friendly place carrying gifts,
and if we do not use the gifts they bring,
they carry them silently away.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

My darlings I wish you sunny days filled with gifts
and the wisdom to enjoy them all wisely.

Dear Duchess, July Blessings to you!

We're off to a nice start that July is here. Tis hot weather until this week-end when the clouds are pouring a great deal of rain on us. A very welcomed sight.

May you have a wonderful July.
Lovely post. The flowers floating in the cup of tea looks refreshing. Think that we need to use our gifts to enjoy life.

Praying for your dear friend.

your quote by mr. emerson is quite stirring, especially the bit when he says they carry them silently away.

wonder how many times i've been offered gifts that have been silently carried away because i didn't pay attention or was too consumed with trivial to notice.

so.....m'dear duchess......thank you for giving us a gentle poke to remind us of what's important!

hugs and blisses...........

I've come hot and limp and tired and, honestly, cranky-like to see your lovely, lovely post. Actually, somehow, I missed the post about the chocolate. Heavens! THAT would have been too, too sad....

Well, now, you've refreshed and soothed me wonderfully - just like you usually do. I am going to leave my dinosaur state and live a higher life now and try to remember that a day that is desperately hot is still a lovely thing. Thanks for reminding me - and, not just with your words only but with your images, too. Oh, funny, tea IS so civilizing - even just the sight of it - I feel it!

Love, katy xo

Good morning Duchess, I'm just checking in to make sure everything's okay with you and Lady R. Our gardens are full of fresh vegetables right now so we've been cooking up a storm here at Frog Hollow Farm. I'm not sure if zucchini grows in England but ours have grown to enormous sizes overnight this summer - almost too big to do anything with! The tomatoes are just beginning to ripen, the plants have such a wonderful aroma in the warm sun. Our Cinderella pumpkins are ripening nicely - I think there are about 7-8 out there on the vines. The second crop of raspberries are getting ready to ripen sometime in early September and the blackberries are just beginning to ripen - they seem to take the longest. Take care my dear! Ciao, bella!

Dear Lady,

I haven't forgotten about you (nor your friend). I have fretted and worried a little - just being honest. I hope that your absence is because it's how you've chosen to use your days wisely and that you're enjoying a beautiful summer. Blogging is so nebulous in some ways and so powerfully real in others. Beautiful images and elevated thoughts are so refreshing and hope giving. I think that, women especially, have a need to create beauty. I believe that it's in our bones. I've so appreciated your output and sharing. Also, the kind and loving words that flow are, I am SURE, actually physically healthy - as well as emotionally. However, I hope that you've been able to enjoy and cherish those who are near and dear to you in your life.

Appreciating you - the very real and warm and lovely you!

Love, katy xxo

Dear Duchess, I have been here again for afternoon tea. I needed a break in my busy day that has been a little tough, so I had a piece of chocolate for the tea. But I hope you are okay. I love your roses. Thanks for tea and sympathy.

Dearest Lady,

It has been a couple of months since you have posted but I just want you to know that I have not forgotten the beautiful and talented woman that has brushed past my life. You come to mind (honestly, how COULD I forget you so easily???) and I smile and I am moved to pray for you. I don't know when you will ever get this little note. I don't know what is happening or will happen. I just want you to know that I thought of you, today, and it was a pleasant, happy thought and, then, I thought that I should tell you so.

Love, Katy Noelle xxoo

Thank you very much for tea.
I hope you are well. Have a nice day.

I feel I need to congratulate you on your inspirational
impact that you have had on my life, since meeting you, my dear nothing has been insurmountable and the simple task of running large households has become a pleasurable experience, so much to share with like minded people that adore excellence.
The organizing of amazing weddings is done with such grace and delight it is a pleasure to be a small part of a fabulous production, my heart's desire has paid dividends with my beautiful daughter joining forces and sharing in all the fun.

Thank you my dear for being such a tremendous spiritual support and guiding light to excellence.
I will endeavor to meet your approval always.

Dear Duchess,
You are missed in blogland. But believe me, I understand how other things can take your energy and mind away from sitting in front of the computer.
My dear sister died of cancer in May this year, and then my dear mother passed away three months later. It has been challenging, to say the least.

I could get down, but then I think, how can I let the opportunity to live life go unnoticed, while I have the blessing to do it?

I often think of you and your friend, and hope with all my heart she's keeping strong in spite of the struggle, and that so are you.

I send you my love, hugs, and wishes of health and peace.

Blessings, dearest Duchess.
