Rose Tea Cottage

Where tea is served at half past four

"Ma chère bonne, if you are not feeling well, if you have not slept, chocolate will revive you. But you have no chocolate! I think of that again and again! Ma chère, how will you ever manage? Please believe that I love you as much as the chocolate we shall savour together."

Written by Madame Marie de Rabutin-Chantal, Marquise de Sévigné in a letter to her daughter, Françoise-Marguerite de Sévigné, Comtesse de Grignan ~ 1670

This weekend, I am planning to sit back, relax, eat lots of chocolate and simply enjoy the sunshine. A big heartfelt thank you to you my darlings for your lovely comments and a warm welcome to my new followers. Wishing you a fabulous weekend full of sweetness.

Far to many times I arise in the night and make myself a cup of hot chocolate and whip cream... it seems to satisfy so I can go back to bed and relax .... Maybe it is a mind thing but it works for me... Happy be your weekend.

Sending you and Lady R sweet greetings from Frog Hollow Farm. So happy to hear that you are taking good care of yourself and that chocolate is part of that practice! It's pretty hot here on the East coast of the USA - chocolate candy would melt pretty quickly today - I guess I'll have to go with the chocolate rocky road ice cream in place of those luscious looking truffles - as a toast to you my dear!

Ciao, bella!

There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with CHOCOLATE!

Dearest Duchess,
Thank you for the quote by the Marquise de Sévigné! She was a well-known lover of chocolate, as is obvious from her worrying because her daughter had none!

Wishing you and your loved ones a beautiful Fourth or July!

Goodness! You have been on my mind so much this past week. Perhaps you are on vacation. Perhaps not. I am praying for you and yours and missing you quite a bit (to be honest =]).

The crickets have begun to fill the air with their violins and the light is turning quite beautifully mellow. September - late summer - is my most favorite time of year. I DO NOT want school to start yet, though. Well, we still have a lovely 5 weeks of summer freedom stretched out before us.

Wishing peace and blessings for you in whatever season you happen to be in.

Love, katy xo

Your Grace! That does look luscious--as ever--but the Countess says, are you sure that's really 'ma chere bonne' rather than, perhaps, 'bonne chere'? According to my Lady (and who am I to argue), 'ma chere bonne' means "my dear maid."
So pleased you are still serving such lovely spreads for tea...

Your blog came up as having a new post on it but I am unable to view it as it says it does not exist!!!!! Flipping heck, that's annoying because I got quite excited to see that you have returned to the fold Dear Duchess.

I hope the post shows up soon so I can see what has been happening in your life recently and why it took a wrong turn.

Good to have you back.
